Computer to operate Macintosh SE 4MB and SCSI2SD 5.1 with 2GB SD card
What I have installed currently:
Basilisk II, HFVExplorer, rufus 3.8, scsi2sd-util, uud32.exe, ciderpress403, ddrelease64.
What I am trying to do:
I want to partition the 4GB SD card into two 1.8GB partitions. I can do this with the scsi2sd-util sorta by making two systems on the card set for ID 0 and 1 or maybe it is 1 and 2. I can't remember.
I want to install System 7.1 (no higher due to resources) and then install some games and utilities to it notably stuffit 5.5 which will help me install other things. I can do this with Basilisk without too much trouble.
What I have tried: I have an image file with 7.1 and stuffit that I can launch with Basilisk II. It is in .DSK format. It is a 1.8 GB image but using all the software I mentioned I can't figure out how to put it on the SD card partition 1.
What I can not figure out how to do:
I can not figure out how to burn that 1.8GB .DSK image to the first partition on the SD card using Windows so I can then put the SD card into the SCSI2SD and boot it up.
If I try Balena Etcher it says it is not a format it understands
If I try DD I can not get it to work as it just echos whatever I type. Even then I don't know how to use that software.
Can someone please teach me how to put an image I make with Basilisk II onto the boot partition of the SD card? I tried following a blog by Stephen but the part where he says to use DD and first type dd --list all it does is echos that right back. Doesn't actually show devices.
Can you tell me what windows program can even read the card? when I insert it into PC it just asks me to format it. Kinda like making raspberry Pi images only in that case Etcher works great.
I keep reading that I should use DD but like I said, I can't get it to work. At this point I am almost wondering if it would be better to buy a cheap mac computer that I can get on the internet with and just use that to make, read, write images because I think the tools for mac are easier to come by and have more online instructions for.
But I can't be the only person doing this and someone must have worked it all out in the past.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'll update my blog to mention the Balena error and the DD requirement

I'll update my blog to mention the Balena error and the DD requirement Thank you. I also PM'd you on facebook because a few files you referenced no longer exist.
