| SE/30 won't keep time and mouse settings |

I have an SE/30 with a recapped motherboard. I've got a new PRAM battery in it and it remains plugged into power. And yet it keeps losing the date / time setting, and the mouse scroll speed setting (i.e. defaults to none of them selected).
Anyone have any ideas?

Nothing to add, unfortunately, but one of my recent SE purchases has these issues so I'm sub'd.

Is the clock actually running? (ie. it actually advances in time once you set it manually?)
Having the machine plugged into the mains doesn't do anything on the SE/30, because the swtich on the back actually turns off the power supply.
There is no standby voltage coming out to keep the RTC chip alive.
Check if you are getting any voltage on pin 8 of the RTC with the battery in place.
Check if diodes D1 and D2 are good. We're going to make sure the RTC is even powered by the battery first.

I’m no expert on this but have the checked the pads and solder on the battery cage, just a thought it one leaked before may have damaged its pins

As Bolle said. I had a really funky issue on a Classic that I had where cap goo was shorting D2 and causing the settings to be lost and the clock to not even run. Checking all the components supporting the RTC is key.
