| Click here to select a new forum. | | Mounting hard drive in TAM bay | Posted by: sfiera on 2020-01-01 02:51:19 My new TAM’s hard drive seems to be failed or failing, and I figured I’d pick up an IDE-to-M.2 adapter and replace it with an SSD. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the unusual screw locations; as Low End Mac notes, “upgrades may require some modification as the mounting holes in the original drive bracket do not match newer notebook IDE drives”.
 
It’s really just a PCB I need to put in place, which doesn’t seem like it should be too hard, but I don’t have tools on hand to make a mounting bracket. What have others done for this case?

| Posted by: EvilCapitalist on 2020-01-02 05:49:51 Ditto on the double sided tape, that's what holds my CF to IDE adapter in my TAM. 3M makes a double sided tape that they market as mounting tape that works very well and is cut-to-fit.
