| SCSI Chip Verification |
Posted by: LaPorta on 2019-12-25 10:45:27 Hi guys, just looking to verify that this should be a solder-in replacement for the SE/30 SCSI chip before I purchase. Looks it to me via the markings on my chip.

Posted by: dougg3 on 2019-12-25 10:56:04 I bought this exact same item from this exact same seller almost 5 years ago to replace the corroded SCSI chip in my IIx and it worked like a charm. I'm guessing the SE/30 uses the same chip too...

Posted by: Crutch on 2019-12-25 15:36:30 That’s the chip in my SE/30 for sure.
By the way, are you sure there’s a problem with your chip and not eg corroded traces nearby?

Posted by: LaPorta on 2019-12-25 16:45:49 I’m willing to try a new chip, for two reasons:
One, I buzzed and traces out every-single-trace I could from the schematic and they seem all good.
Two, I remember this board being bad some ~20 years ago because of this same gray screen issue when I put it into storage. I think I may have pulled off a SCSI device with the machine on.
