| Opening up the Portable Macintosh's Power Adapter (M5136) |
Posted by: deffjay on 2019-11-22 13:00:05 I can't find a way to open up the power adapter for the portable Macintosh (M5136). I am wondering if anybody has any advice for me? There is literally nothing on the internet for opening the adapter since the common answer is to replace it. Not wanting to replace it, just fix it.
I included a picture of what the adapter looks like to help jog peoples memories 🙂
Help!

You'll have to use a thin, sharp knife to carefully pry along the seam, break the glue, and separate the case.

Posted by: deffjay on 2019-11-22 16:08:49 I feared this. Having a heck of a time trying to do this and not make a mess. Do you have any tips on softening the glue? I've been using some isopropanol, however it's not helping much.
Thank you for responding!

It, along with the plastic is pretty brittle.
Here's a vid that shows one method.
