G5 Standing desk

A G5 standing desk. I can take the shelf/side off and close it up to hide the inevitable storage mess, but never do. It just fits the magic keyboard and the old bluetooth trackpad. The new one is too wide. They do also make good shelf brackets as well, along with Mac Pros. Old picture, but the G5 remains.

I like it, but how stable is it if you're really banging away at the kbd and resting the full weight of your arms on the wrist supports for it and the trackpad? They make great shelf supports too I see, nice collection from Luggable through Duo/Dock. :approve:

I like it as well, but that's a heck of a Mac Pro shelf too.

How do you support the side panel in the G5 case? With wooden supports or runners of a sort?

Umm... where is the Macquarium!? If you are going to repurpose... got to start with the original! (I kid, I kid!)

Great concept, and nice use of the wonderful Mac Pro for shelving. I still have 5 2009/2010s, might have to get a sixth someday to create my own MacProShelving, but only after I stop using them.

What's the G4 mini/ g4 iMac Frankenthingie?

That was an old iPad stand I made years ago with some dead computer parts. I'm sure it was for a first gen iPad before the thought of collectible was a thing. Fun to recycle some parts. I have an xServe glass table, Airport lamp and a great (in my mind) lit-up g4 Mac mini wall mounted shelf for the Woz signed mouse.
