| Powerbook keyboard problem |
Posted by: Papichulo on 2019-11-16 15:15:57 My powerbook 145b is finally working but now the keyboard only recognizes some keys. I replaced the keyboard twice and reseated the connectors same problem. Sometimes the keys work and now they wont. Is it the keyboard or mabie logic board? Thanks

Oddly enough, I was just working on a dead Powerbook 145. Your’s was dead, I believe. How did you revive it? I have so far failed to get mine to show any signs of life at all.

Well i ordered a new screen for mine and replaced the inverter board. The thick gray cable was loose and needed be replaced. Also i cleaned the boards and took out the memory card. I already replaced the keyboard but same problem.
Also that thick gray cable has to be bent a certain way or it wont boot at all i figured that out the other day.

Posted by: beachycove on 2019-11-19 16:21:32 Mine shows no signs of life when pressing the power on button. The power supply is good - it will start up a PB160, for example, so it is not the problem.
I may have a spare logic board from a 145b here in a box of parts, so when I get “a round tuit,” I’ll probably try that. It would be less work than fiddling with the fuse.
Was the fuse your problem or that cable you mention?

Posted by: Papichulo on 2019-11-19 19:00:46 I never knew there was a fuse. The problem was the gray cable on the interconnect board were the clock battery is. Also make sure the cable is fitting right when when you put the computer together.
