| Posted by: ExplodingLemur on 2019-08-28 17:59:43 I spotted a IIci on eBay for $70. No interior pictures of course. I shot a message to the seller and got one motherboard shot back, drive Cage in place so I couldn't see if there was battery damage, but there WAS something interesting-looking in the PDS slot! What the heck, I'll take a gamble. It just arrived today and I did a quick disassembly. It has a bit of battery leakage but it was stored on its side with the battery at the low point so it leaked onto the plastic mostly. Maybe a little RTC damage. Should be easily repaired. More importantly though is that card. It's a Sonnet 68040 accelerator! Neat! Time to pull the battery and start cleanup and repair.     | |

I messaged the seller asking if there was any memory in the machine when he tested it, because the description said no video. My thought was that if a memory bank was empty it might not produce video, but if memory was installed, then it was probably a battery bomb. The answer I received was that all eight slots were filled, so I skipped it. | |
