SOLVED!  $22.38 mSATA in G4 Mini

[SIZE=11pt]I looked at my options, and bought a 128GB mSATA drive, and ATA adapter, for a combined total + shipping = $22.38, and replaced the 80GB spinning platters in an A1103 1.5Ghz, 1GB, and now 120GB storage.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]I split the drive into 2 partitions an put OS 9 and 10 on there.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]I think I’ll take OS 10 off, and use OS 9 only.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]I’m not sure why I did any of this, so if you have any ideas, let me know.[/SIZE]

Do you have links to where you bought these? The prices of SSDs keep falling -$22 is much more reasonable than $200!

eBay.

The adapters are under $3.50 and the mSata SSD depends on on size and quality. 

Bigger is more, pre-owned is cheaper.....

I would also stay away from the TLC, and stick to the MLC.

Newegg has some MSATA drives on sale for $15.99 at the moment.  I think the manufacturer is Dogfish.  I know nothing about that company.

Looking again, the $15.99 ones are only 32GB.  There's a 64GB for $19.   128GB is just shy of $30.

The mSATA 44 pin adapters are all over eBay cheap, but I did wait 4 weeks for the adapter to arrive from China....
