Quadra 950 - Blank Bezel to CD Bezel Kluge

Subject of Q950 CD Bezels came up again. Was able to harvest my attachments from a lost thread.

Irreversible mod of blank bezel bezel required, but the tab will probably break off when removed anyway. Hot Glue for test, DF tape might be better for real deal. Somebody else mentioned having done this IRL.

I kind of wonder why somebody doesn't get a CNC milling machine and just make a 5.25" slot in blank bezels (after you remove the metal shielding).

What is the piece of plastic hanging off the bottom that looks like it prevents the drive from retracting all the way?

It's the bottom chin of the stock bezel blank hidden by the main panel after it's installed in the next reassembly step, IIRC.

Images were attached May 5, 2014 in a topic that remains to be recovered. I never did the mod, just demonstrated the method. Excising the chin, clip and filing away at the blank for fitment would be the madness.
