| Broken races on analog board Macintosh plus |
Posted by: The MAC MANIAC! on 2019-03-02 07:52:48 I have a Macintosh plus and I took off the paper off the analog board I saw what no computer repairman wants to see. Corrosion all along the board. Most of it was clean but some parts had a boat 2 by 2 inches of the board completely corroded. I want to know what to do to jump them. They all are pretty far apart. Some are even 2 to 3 inches. The green upper layer has fallen off and became brittle. Some I can see under it that it's corroded. What do I do to save it and also keep it from coming back! It's running about from top to bottom and mostly around the outside of the board!

Posted by: AwkwardPotato on 2019-03-02 08:32:04 Do you have a picture(s) of the corrosion? The way you describe it makes it sound like a lost cause, especially if the solder mask (green layer) is peeling away.

Posted by: jgk on 2019-03-04 12:00:00 That looks somewhat nasty. I'd just buy a replacement analog board on Ebay. There are deals to be had there, every so often. BTW, with this level of damage on your analog board, I can only wonder what condition the logic board, and the monitor neck and yoke are in?...

Posted by: The MAC MANIAC! on 2019-11-01 13:52:31 I have a plan
1 New Capacitors
2 New flyback
3 New mask + Trace patches
I will try what I can to save it because I can't afford a new board.
Any other things you suggest?
