| Can I use a macintosh classic II analog board with a macintosh SE mb |
Posted by: Nathanplus on 2019-02-25 12:29:33 So I have a very creative question. I purchased a macintosh classic II for $35 with everything but the mouse, even the box. This machine suffered a battery that exploded and the motherboard will never work after that. I was wondering if the analog board in the classic has the same pin out or if some one has figured out a way to hook a SE motherboard to it instead.

Posted by: Nathanplus on 2019-02-25 14:08:40 I did try to solderer and I cleaned the board many times the last straw i had was coking the mb a new replacement cap blew up in my face and all the parts on the board went every where believe me if I could have fixed it I would not ask this question. The mother board even with flux would not solider well and the traces broke right off trying to solider on parts which is weird because I've never had that happen to me without force or pressure.

Posted by: Nathanplus on 2019-02-25 14:35:04 Do you think that the flyback in the classic has the same voltage properties as the plus, I know its smaller and the pins arn't strait but if its the same I can fix my plus. I also know that the same flyback is used with a SE for the plus and the screen in the SE and the screen in the SE is swapable with the classic II.

Posted by: Johnnya101 on 2019-02-25 14:51:08 Yeah, I think it should work. It is different, but should work. I know SEs are compatible, as well as plain Classics, the II is a little different.
