So, in asking, what do you prefer:
Sheepshaver, Balisk, something else?
Compile your own or prepackaged like on RetroPie or Chameleon Pi?
Which Model: A, A+, B, B+, Pi 2, Pi 0?
Which OS - Wheezy or Jessie (though for the Pi 2 and Pi 0 - Jessie is mandatory)?
In short, what has worked for you?
| Posted by: mac-man6 on 2016-01-04 19:55:02 I would like to hear what other people say but I have RPI 2 with RetroPie. It's neat to see the Mac OS but I'm not sure how to configure it easily. You need a controller to get around the GUI of RetroPie but can use a separate keyboard to do some command line stuff. So for example, controller to access the command line, then switch to the keyboard to type. It gets a bit hectic while trying to use a laptop on the same desk.
But if I were to guess I would say Basilisk II running on Raspian or one of the other Linux images.
| Posted by: johnklos on 2016-01-05 12:38:19 I have Mini vMac running on a BeagleBone Black which is somewhere between the performance of a first generation Raspberry Pi (at least 1.5 times and with some thing 2 times faster) and one core of the Raspberry Pi 2. It's configured to run a Mac II emulation with 8 bit color, 8 megs of memory and System 7.5.5. It's pretty responsive, but based on what I'm seeing I wouldn't want to run it on a first generation Pi.
I've also played with it on an 800 MHz PogoPlug. There it was sluggish and it was difficult to double click because it didn't always respond in time. Basilisk II seems no better.
My Pi 2 and Banana Pi are both doing other things right now, but I'll check out Mac emulation on them sometime.
