Actuator arm moving when i move my hdd in my hand
Posted by: Roarke on 2019-01-03 15:48:43 I just bought it a few days ago from a site like Ebay. Actuator arm is moving when i move my hdd in my hand. Is this normal ? I don't think that else can move inside.

Posted by: PB145B on 2019-01-04 02:42:18 That’s not the actuator arm, it is the head locking mechanism, and it is completely normal for it to rattle when you shake the drive. The Hitachi/IBM Travelstar drives do the same thing. Some of the Toshiba drives even say right on the top cover “rattle noise is normal”.
