I recently found a rough-but-working Kensington System Saver via a local eBay auction. It's working well enough - it passes power and the fan is moving air, but the fan is making a rather unpleasant low rumbling / grinding sound. Given that I recently rebuilt my desktop / gaming PC with an emphasis on reduced noise, now I'm wondering if I could do the same for this old System Saver. Specifically, have any of you ever swapped out the old fan with a newer, quieter one? If yes, what make and model of replacement fan did you use? I see one video on YouTube where the gentleman replaced the fan, but he also did a fairly significant overhaul of the electronics inside the unit and reshaped the interior plastics, which is beyond both my skill-level and current interests.
Thanks for any suggestions!

If so you can search for a quiet (lower dBA) fan of the same size and voltage with a suitable CFM rating. The worst part of the process may be getting the housing open if it doesn't use standard fasteners.
Did you try a google search?
