| 800k floppy drive wont go down | |

| Posted by: Dog Cow on 2018-10-12 15:34:29 I recall this problem. I bet your drive is stuck in between states. This is the one that had problems ejecting a few days ago, correct? Can you take a picture showing the front of the drive, where you'd insert the floppy, but without any floppy, so we can see inside? | |

| Posted by: bibilit on 2018-10-14 23:45:41 Seen this a thousand times. The ejecting motor is preventing the tray from going down. Probably the usual broken gear inside. remove the motor (two screws) i bet the tray will go down. | |

I the gear is broken, the motor will spin all the time trying to eject the floppy, and obviously if the floppy drive had troubles ejecting the disk, it was an early symptom of the gear going bad. | |
