800k floppy drive wont go down

Ok i finally my 800k floppy out and i think i found the problem , the floppy tray is not slideing into the notch so it wont go down and read 

Do you guys know how to fix it?

I recall this problem. I bet your drive is stuck in between states. This is the one that had problems ejecting a few days ago, correct?

Can you take a picture showing the front of the drive, where you'd insert the floppy, but without any floppy, so we can see inside?

Seen this a thousand times.

The ejecting motor is preventing the tray from going down.

Probably the usual broken gear inside.

remove the motor (two screws) i bet the tray will go down.

Yes, for a test don't need to remove the connector.

I the gear is broken, the motor will spin all the time trying to eject the floppy, and obviously if the floppy drive had troubles ejecting the disk, it was an early symptom of the gear going bad.

I bet many of my drives are going to have this problem.

I've been lucky so far, and none of the gears in their ejector mechanisms have broken. Yet.
