Confirm IIci cache card is functioning

Posted by: superjer2000 on 2018-09-29 22:47:55 I bought a 32k cache card for my IIci, recapped it and installed it. I would like to confirm it's working but I'm not sure what utility will show it's installed. Tattletech doesn't show the IIci PDS slot and it shows 0k of L2 cache under CPU.  Any suggestions for a program that can at least report it's installed and recognized by the system?

I was hoping there would be an easier way, but I couldn't think of any either.  I ended up running a few different permutations, with and without the cache card (which is definitely functioning) and with and without onboard video. Ignore the bars as the scales are different - but based on the performance scores: The cache card does add a few points to the various categories, whether internal video or a Nubus card is being used. Using a non-accelerated Nubus card adds to the CPU scores by a significant margin, but impacts the graphics score quite substantially. Ultimately, the cache card gives me some extra points on the CPU score while delivering graphics scores with my Nubus card similar to onboard video scores without the cache card. At this point, I have elected to keep my Nubus video card installed.

Posted by: trag on 2018-10-01 13:39:49 Going back to the original question, I think that NewerTech's Gauge series will detect the presence or absence of the cache.  It consists of RAMometer and two other utilities, one of which is oriented towards cache information.
