Thanks
| Posted by: trag on 2018-08-31 15:40:13 IIRC, the cache slot for the 6400/6500 has a 25/25/30 pattern to the pins. That is, there are 25 pins, then a notch, 25 pins, then a notch, and then 30 pins.
If the 820-0672 follows that pattern, it is probably compatible. The X100 series and the X500, X600 series used a different physical slot for their caches and after that, there weren't removable L2 caches.
| Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2018-08-31 21:56:16 Just checked what was handy. Dunno what that part number means, but if's like the Cache Card in my 6290, it's VERY different from the Cache Card in my 6500.
Noticed recently that the 6500 slot is labeled simply "Cache." But the slot in the 6290 is labeled "ROM/L2 Cache." The 6500 board has pads for a dedicated "ROM" DIMM slot that's keyed in the same pattern as the 6290 "ROM/L2 Cache" card.

Cheers
