@SE30_Neal Check your PMs. You shouldn't need any ResEdit hackery unless you're doing specific modifications.  All you need is a 32-bit clean ROM.

I was under the impression that you do need to edit the boot routine as well if you are using 7.5 on a SE/30, IIx or IIcx with IIsi ROM.

The screenshot looks just the way it should be to me though. Just replace the last 03 with 05 in the line starting with 000018.

Just as they say you should.

Yes it wouldn’t boot into the rominator, that said I would need to remove mode32 before trying again. Yes 7.7.5 needs a tweek according to the bigmessowires site but wasnt a 100 clear what to change.  So i was in the right area then

Oh, OK.  I didn't realize it had to be modified to run 7.5.  Interesting.

Is there something in 7.5 that you need that 7.1 Pro won't do?  Typically that's partitions large than 2GBs.  7.1 to me almost always seems like a better choice for a 68k Mac II even with obscene amounts of memory. 🙂

Also, I always love seeing an old 68k Mac with 128MBs.  It's just a hilariously huge amount of RAM.

7.5.5 is down to my desire to use it as a email client and getting online so the latest software is the better for that Even know i’ll probably need to use either my imac g3 or macmini as pass through server because off SSL.

yes 128mb is awesome 🙂  why just because lol it’s actually 4 x more that i have in my performa 6200 and that pleases me a lot 🙂

Sounds interesting! I’d like to try something similar. How does it work?

Hi Ktkm, good question i’ve not got to that part myself yet as i haven’t got my se/30 network card setup yet but in theory you use the moderm machine as the SSL and authentification as the mail server and tgen push to the old macintosh
