AppleWorks GS and RAM
Posted by: dcr on 2018-08-07 14:19:41
I've been trying to research this but haven't found a definitive answer.  Does anyone know how much RAM would be required to run AppleWorks GS?  I have a memory expansion card that has the stock 256k, so that would give the machine a total of 512k.  From what I have been able to find, that probably wouldn't be enough.  If I max out the card at 1 MB, giving the machine 1.25 MB of RAM, would that be enough?

Also, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I would need a hard drive to use it, plus run GS/OS?  In the later case, am I going to need a newer RAM expansion card that would give me 4MB or 8MB?  Or is 1.25 MB of RAM?  Primarily, I want to run AppleWorks GS and either GS/OS 5 or 6, depending on whether AWGS will run on 6.

Thanks!

GS/OS 6 needs 1MB of RAM (2 recommended) plus you need RAM for the app.
