| Macintosh Classic capacitor types |

Looking for the highest quality longer lasting capacitors I can use to repair classic computers (such as my Macintosh Classic or LC, etc).
I heard SMD lifespan isn't great and my Macintosh Classic suggests this to be the case.
What is the best set to get out of these below? Are all types usable on the Macintosh Classic?

My computer symptoms are no sound / chim, HD isn't detected. Everything else seems fine after washing motherboard.

If you're in the US, you should look to buy from mouser.com or digikey.com. You can get exactly what you need. I used mouser. The individual capacitors are very inexpensive. I recommend reading through this forum and buying all of the recommended caps, diodes, etc for both the motherboard and analog board. They charged $7 in shipping, which ends up being the biggest expense. Better to overbuy on capacitors then pay multiple shipping charges.

I have Amazon prime so don't normally have to pay shipping when I order from there is why I look at it first (but I hear ya). This is to fix a Classic board that wasn't in the best shape (after the lithium ion battery caused some damage [but stuff seems like it will work as it mostly does after washing the board]) so I'm going to attempt this myself. I think I have enough soldering experience to do it right or will learn a lot from this attempt. Will do some practice runs on other crap boards first though.
I have a SE/30 I just picked up as well. Board is in good shape so I will probably have that one professionally done by maccaps.com as I care more about it.

Michigan, I think. He did an SE/30 for me and it was good work, though it required some extra investment to track down a bad sound trace.
I have heard that allcaps (in Florida, I believe?) also does good work.

Last I knew (haven't done business with him since he got banned), he was in Southfield, which I think is a suburban area somewhere near Detroit.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think it was because he broke several rules repeatedly, and the admins finally had enough.
I guess you could contact any of the admins if you want more details. I'm not sure it's wise to continue discussing it here, so that's all I'll say on the matter.

So I replaced the capacitors on my Macintosh Classic and washed motherboard.
Everything works BUT one major issue! The hard drive isn't detected. What capacitor(s) are used for scsi? Maybe I did one wrong.
Screen turns on and is bright.
Boots ROM quick.
Sound now works.
Boots from floppy drive just fine.
Doesn't detect HD (the physical disk works, tested it on SE/30 to make sure).
Any idea?

The schematics for these older machines should be in the old apple repair manuals. You could start there, or alternately just follow traces near the scsi connector.

So didn't know this but Macintosh Classics have a rom simm with the full blown OS 6 on it.
idk whats wrong with scsi but because of this, I can boot the computer and read disks with my Floppy Emu or external disk drive.
This is good enough for me as I wanted this computer just to try out classic C/C++ code I compile with a newer mac.
WooHoo. Also fixed my SE/30 sound as well from what I learned!

The other older compact macs like SE have easy to find ones in books and pdfs, I thought the Classic was among them.
