Has someone the DB15-DB15 video cable pinout?
Posted by: MrGasS27 on 2018-05-13 06:50:12
Hi everybody 🙂

I usually use a 13" AppleColor High-Resolution RGB Monitor (640x480) and I want to replicate the DB15 Male - DB15 Male cable to connect the monitor to Mac, my multimeter is broken and right now I can't discover the pinout (I'm looking for a multimeter with a piezo beeper) so, has someone the pinout of that cable?

Thank you! 🙂

Hi all - revivifying an old thread, but I’m also keen to find an answer to this question. Is the Mac monitor DB15 to DB15 cable just a straight through thing or something more complicated?

Should be pretty straight through. I've had a friend make me a DB15 to VGA adapter using this pinouts

So for DB15 to DB15 it should be directly.

Thanks BacioiuC — I’ll check that out.

The cable is straight-thru. One thing to be mindful of is that all the pins should be present and wired on the cable. Apple shipped the AppleColor RGB monitor for the Apple IIgs with a DB-15 cable that is missing pins and it will NOT work with a AppleColor High Resolution Monitor. The Apple IIgs doesn't use the sense pins on the DB-15 connector, so Apple saved a few cents on the cable by eliminating the unused pins.

Thanks NJRoadfan.

I bought this cable and it works marvellously:

Appreciate the advice, as always.
