Can be a problem in the charging board area.

There is a daughter board where the battery comes in contact for charging purposes, a lot of capacitors in there, if the board is missing or bad, the 5300 won't boot.

Its an easy procedure to open it?

Many people tells me about faulty clock battery.

The 5300 is easy to open.

Remove the Floppy drive and the battery.

There is a couple of screws in the bottom, lift the keyboard, remove the side plastic hinge covers and trackpad.

The battery and Pram battery are on the right, but IIRC the HD should be removed also.

And where can I find battery clock replacement?

190/5300 Service Source: http://powerbook.micahgartman.com/ss/ss_190-5300.pdf

Just about any PowerBook documentation can be found there as well: http://powerbook.micahgartman.com/

I don't know where you can find a new PRAM battery, IIRC those are not the common ones, but are rechargeables batteries.

I think they can run without PRAM battery

The PRAM batteries are 2 of these rechargeable VL2330 3V Li-ion coin cell batteries soldered together:

It's hard to find the original already soldered batteries.

Thanks guys.Is it worthy to keep the machine and fix it or to sell it?Is it rare the ce model? The hinges are very strong for 5300...

This model was the top of the range, i think only had seen one for real.

The Cs and C are common, not the Ce.

The Pram battery is not required to boot, better removed it anyway.

Did you tried the reset switch on the back ?
