Quick post before bed - some sort of SE accelerator (missing CPU and FPUs)?

That was my thought (se upgrade board) question is would the cpu/fpu be difficult to find?

Does it have to be a MC68030RC25B ?: 68030/25 CPU: https://www.ebay.com/itm/152865317115

I am seeing a bunch of listings for MC68030RC25C  Would the C revision of the CPU be compatible as well (cheaper price) https://www.ebay.com/itm/162851062700

Any '030 that is 25Mhz or faster should work.

ok, well i bought the fpu and cpu on ebay. Ill post back if they work ok.

so how does the RAM work? Do I just leave the 4MB ram I have in my se as is and install the board or do I move my system ram to this new board? The other posting seems to say that the ram on the upgrade board can be used as a ramdrive. Is that its only purpose?

IIRC it's limited to that. You'll be using system memory on the MoBo. Dunno what drivers they used and how it worked, but RAMDisk+(?) worked great for me back in the day for reloading an image from HDD automagically into a RAM disk after a powerdown.

I am hoping you guys can help me with something else. I have the board and fpu/cpu installed on it and have it in my SE right now, but I dont have a modern MAC and the only drivers I seem to find are in .SIT or .HQX format. Can someone point me to a gemstart disk image (.dsk)? or maybe uncompress them and emaill them to me?

here is the driver:http://www.3rz.org/mirrors/macdrivermuseum/accel/gemstart3.sit
