| Giving Classic II something to do |
Posted by: Jon183 on 2018-04-23 22:01:59 Hi everyone,
I have a classic II which is probably my most stable compact mac, I want to actually use it for something, is there a good software suite for making labels? Kind of like MS Publisher. I also want to import modern jpegs and turn them into monochrome pictures for use on labels. What else can you do with a monochrome compact mac for fun?

Posted by: SE30_Neal on 2018-04-24 15:13:46 Ha-ha I know the feeling i have a mac se/30 im just upgrading before putting to work. I just brought a scanner for it they’re cheap enough. Pretty much any publishing software will do quark, aldus or software like Claris works or Word would do, try several see which one works for you.
happy fun with your classic 🙂

Posted by: MacFox on 2018-04-25 18:26:20 I'm always trying to find a "purpose" for each of my Macs too. I mainly use Word 5.1 on my Classic II. One thing my Classic II can do that my SE can't is convert Word 97/98 files to Word 5 format. The converter requires an '020 or better, so it won't run on my SE. Other than that, I had MacDraw II on it for a time, if you're interested in drawing you can check that out. Pretty much any black and white software that will run on an '030 and doesn't require 256 grays should work on the classic II.
