How to get internet working on my mac lc III?
Posted by: xboxown on 2018-03-16 23:15:16
I have purchased the Ethernet card for my mac LC III but it stops here. After that I am unable to get it online. I have installed the necessary software (driver) that came with the Ethernet card and I have enabled appleTalk but I do not know from here how to configure the IP address, gateway, subnet mask and everything else to get it online. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciate it. I thought perhaps hooking the mac into my PC ethernet and doing bridge would be the ultimate solution. I just realized now that is not a good idea. Best solution would be to have directly in the router, but how do I configure the computer to go online in the network?

 Thanks in advance.

On your hard disk.  There should be a folder named Apple Extras.  Is there an application named Network Software Selector in it?

Besides Gopher, FTP, and IRC, Not entirely sure what your planning on doing online? as SSL and HTTP2.0 starts taking the world by swarm its a matter of time before browsing HTTP services will be impossible without assistance of other machines.

Ah, Nice OK.

I dont get onto IRC hardly anymore, not as much as I used to. But I use SSH all the time I just wish it was updated with modern ciphers.
