Classic II logic/analog board in Classic case
Posted by: Johannes on 2018-03-15 05:24:24
I'm in possession of a Classic II with some really ugly markings on the case and a nice looking but broken Classic (corroded logic board, dead analog board). Now I'm wondering if it might be possible to replace the broken components of the Classic with the working components of the Classic II. I can tell from looking at them that the microphone connector on the Classic II logic board would not be accessible inside the Classic case but that's not really an issue.

I see two options:

1. Transplant the logic board as well as the analog board.

2. Transplant the logic board only and repair the analog board in the Classic.

Does this sound feasible at all? Anyone tried it before?

The only problem will be the microphone connector, you can modify the Classic rear bucket by adding a hole, late Classic II casings have also holes for the speaker, but apart from that you can swap boards.
