"Your Apple Tour Of The Macintosh Plus" 690-5209A
Posted by: Schmoburger on 2015-11-29 20:59:14
I have spent the afternoon backing up another box of floppies into image format, and in copying my System 6.0 disks, I found the "Your Apple Tour Of The Macintosh Plus" (PN 690-5209A) training disk to be corrupted and unable to be copied. 🙁 I figured this wouldn't be a major issue as I could download an image from the web, however in doing a search, I do not seem to be able to find any source from which I can download a copy of this specific disk... I am led to believe the beige Plus used a different variation of the tutorial disk, but in any case, both seem to be pretty much unobtanium. I have already had a look through the obvious areas of my Older Software Downloads dump and there is nothing thus far.... the 6.0.x images only have the four System and Utility disks, and the only training items I can find are the Macintosh Tutorial and Mouse Basics.

Is anybody possibly kind enough to be able to provide a link to, or create and upload an image the particular disc in question, which was I'm pretty sure bundled with my platinum Plus, not my beige one? I'd very much like to have a usable image of this for obvious reason. 🙂

Cheers

Kieran

CHeers mate that would be fantastic if you can find it! I've never been so devestated to find a corrupt disk as I was to find thi one corrupt.

I don't have the Mac Plus tour in either version, but I do have the SE tour original disk, which does not help you, but I also have MacTools Deluxe which is useful for copying corrupted disks (does not always work, depends on the extent of the corruption).

Good luck with the search for a copy online. Regrettably a lot of this software was pre-widespread-internet, and corrupted pre-internet.

@Schmoburger sorry dude, not found anything. I have tours for the SE, SE/30, Portable and some generic ones, but nothing for the Plus 🙁

I'm off to pick up *a lot* of stuff this Thursday from an old guy getting rid of all his collection. There are a lot of disks and he has a Plus, so I may turn something up. If I do, I'll let you know in this thread

Very nice.  Thanks.  Does anyone have the audio that accompanies the tours?

Cheers mate that is brilliant! what format are those files in? under OSX it is showing up as just a text file, but presumably it is not. 🙂

I might actual see about sourcing MacTools actually... could be a godsend with all the slightly bad floppies Ive found lately.

I have the audio converted to mp3 somewhere in my backup disk I will check.  The disks are .dsk and .img files

Any suggestions on a program to open those image files? Disk Copy 6.3.3 is throwing an error and failing to mount it. 🙁

Thank you so much for the tour audio.  Any chance you have the audio for Macwirte-MacPaint A guided tour?
