| Classic ii monitor flicker |
Posted by: itdude99 on 2018-02-23 14:54:41 Howdy all. I am trying to revive this Mac. Things I have done so far. Removed ROMs and memory. Put in dishwasher. Put everything back. Same issue. Please see video for flickering issue.
I don’t know if the logic board works. Can I place the classic ii logic board into the case/monitor of an SE/30? I am not going to swap analogue board. I am afraid to touch all that CRR stuff.
Thanks in advance!

Posted by: techknight on 2018-02-23 15:58:24 That is the power supply cycling over and over again. Probably caps.
Both the analog board and logic board needs cleaned and fully recapped before you can even begin troubleshooting.

Posted by: itdude99 on 2018-02-23 17:36:35 Thanks techknight, I found the wiki.86kmla.org page regarding the capacitors for the logic board. Is there a similar placer to find the capacitors for the analog board? Also any advice on where to buy or what else I should be reading? This is my first attempt at this type of repair. Also do you think I can try out the Classic II logic board in a working SE or SE/30 case?

Posted by: Jinnai on 2018-02-23 17:43:11 yeah it is caps. I had good results after just washing it under running water (tried spraying it which didn't work) and drying totally. replacing caps you get them from mouser or digikey, but when I did it I lifted pads and had to remake traces with thin wire, they're a bit difficult to get off.

You can swap the Logic board with a Classic II, not with any other model.
