| Glide Strips for ADB mouse? |

Has anyone replaced the glide strips on the bottom of an ADB mouse? What kind of material did you use?

It's teflon. Maybe sliding glass door sliders? I'd look at Home Depot or a big box hardware store.

If you have any printers near you, give them a call. They may have sheets of 8.5x11 peel-n-stick teflon. It's used for overlays. I bet you could buy a single sheet from them for a dollar or two, then cut out some sliders.

You do need to get something with the glue on one side (teflon is slippery). Thickness is another problem.

You do need to get something with the glue on one side (teflon is slippery). Thickness is another problem. I found some thick ( .020 ) PTFE tape with adhesive, but it's pretty expensive -- $20 for 15 ft x .5 inch. That is enough to re-do the strips on a lot of mice.

These are designed for specific mouse models, which appear to be mice typically used in gaming. They don't have any specific for Apple ADB mice, but perhaps there are ones large enough to be trimmed to size.

I also came across this site, which has a wider variety of replacement feet, including ones for some of the newer Apple mice, but unfortunately nothing specific for the ADB mice though, again, perhaps some could be trimmed to size.

I bought a couple of rolls of adhesive backed teflon tape some years ago. Picking the right thickness is key as the mouseball only works in a pretty narrow range of heights. I would post the thickness I bought that worked, but I can't find any record of the purchase. Too long ago.
The worst part is that the front teflon pad on the ADB mice is an arc and it's really hard to cut out a piece of teflon tape to match.

I thought about scanning, measuring and then cutting the shapes with a laser, but in researching online, cutting the tapes might produce carcinogenic (or other dangerous) fumes. A cutting die would be better, though much more expensive, and given that there are at least four variants of the wedge mouse with at least three different bottom styles requiring different pad shapes, that's probably not an economically sound option.

Actually I've found a really easy and cheap solution (Well... temporary I suppose)
Zip ties.
Yes. Really. You have to fiddle with it to get the perfect height but works great. Simply cut one to length and hot glue it and you're good to go. I used small ones so bigger ones may work better?
