Who can tell me all the little details about the RetroChallenge? Is it basically to choose a project and try to finish it within the month while keeping updates? When might the next one be?

Check out the website here: http://www.retrochallenge.org, especially the entrants page for the last retrochallenge: http://www.retrochallenge.org/p/entrants-list-201710_5.html. You can see what some of the projects were and a summary of how they progressed.  Every entrant has a blog set up to document their progress.

I think the next one is in April? They run it every 6 months.

Ah so it's really that simple? Just sign up when the next runs?

April sounds good... Should be ready by then to start my "project" 😉

Yes, that’s pretty much it. Keep an eye on their twitter feed https://mobile.twitter.com/retrochallenge for the sign up announcement which is usually a month before the event starts.

Not sure what's up with RC 2018/4 but I guess there haven't been halftime comments yet.... At this rate, it'll be over before we get those LOL.

Essentially, I thought it’s about using retro hardware for a month.

If you play video games, put away your PlayStation, Wii, Xbox, and only use a SE or IIci, etc. to play games for a whole month.

macintosh garden is a good place to get software, if it hasn’t been uploaded in a chewed up form from the Microsoft emulating Mac OS crowd.

Or, put down your MacBook, and use a 604, or G3 for web access.

MacOS9Lives.com is helpful for using OS9, and even 8, connecting to the web.

Yeah I sorta gave up when it got super behind and never got finished... I completed my project, the midway report mentioned that my blog was down even though it was not. Messaged multiple times and nothing happened.

at least i finished the site...
