Does your Quadra 700 have a hard drive light installed?

I have never seen one with a hard drive light. Just how many actually had hard drive activity lights installed?

My pre-production has one. Its slightly difference than a IIcx one if I recall.

My Quadra 700 doesn't have one, but my IIci does.

I'd like to get one for the 700 at some point, but first, it needs a working hard drive to attach a light to.

Not all hard drive has external LED support.  Some of the newer GB+ hard drives that came out near end of SCSI Mac's life didn't have any jumper or pins header for external hookup.

To those of you who know, what size LED does the Quadra 700 accept in its plastic LED holder?

5mm standard LED

I don't, I've got a Conner drive installed though. The housing is there, just no light.

Lots of Conner's have a "LED" jumper. So you could run a LED off that on wires to a vent grill and join the ranks of the 'Cool kids' 🙂
