Best replacement for U3 optocoupler Macintosh Plus ( International board )
Posted by: nvdeynde on 2017-12-03 02:43:35
I have a faulty optocoupler on a Mac Plus International analog board. Part is labeled H11AV.

What's the best replacement ? An 4N35 optocoupler or VOR1121A6 solid state relay or something else ?

CNY 17 (CNY 75 GB) is working fine, replaced quite a few without issue.

The specs of an CNY75GB  and the 4N35 suggested in Macintosh repair and upgrade secrets are quite different.

While the CNY75GB has a CTF of 200%, the 4N35 is only 50%.

I suppose they are not exchangeable.

So which is the right part ?

The CNY75GB is compatible for the Classic I/II  boards but  I doubt it is for the Mac 128/512/Plus.
