Posted by: aplmak on 2014-02-04 06:23:08 This is really cool... I guess one of the first syncable Mac wrist watches!!! It has a clip similar to some of the new watches I have seen today.. The copywright on the book says 1988... So it's old.. I put a new battery in it and got it working.. This is yet another strange item from Marion Stokes collection that Hap and I bought..

Posted by: Gorgonops on 2014-02-04 12:45:46 Seiko made a bunch of ever-so-slight variations of those Databank watches to work with just about any computer you can think of. (My favorite was the one that worked with an external dock that let you write BASIC programs in a whopping 4k of RAM; I remember actually seeing one of those in a department store when I was a kid. Most of the Databank-only ones had 2k, except for the first model which only had a few hundred *bytes*.) I wonder if anyone really ended up getting their money's worth out of them; I suppose the custom alarm feature might be useful if you cared to translate your schedule into it but the total amount of "memo" information these things can hold would fit on a single piece of typing paper.
