Guy is the original owner and the machine has been well cared-for. Says he has some other goodies I might be interested in, too. Will post pics when I get home!

| Posted by: Hotdog Zanzibar on 2014-01-31 14:35:38 That's what I'm hoping. The AV Quadras weren't your run-of-the-mill desktop publishing stations, they were used for a specific purpose (usually). One of the rarer Centris 660AVs would be a nice find, but I haven't seen one for sale in years.
The Quadra 840AV I found a couple years back came with a nifty graphics card and some nice software still installed (guy never wiped it). He even added a 1gb HD in addition to the stock 500mb. He pretty much destroyed the drive bezels, though. Still looking for replacements...
| Posted by: luckybob on 2014-01-31 15:12:52 I love my 660av! Runs great, and I like the form factor.

One of the rarer Centris 660AVs would be a nice find... I have a Centris 660av complete with box and (I think) accessories if someone is looking.
| Posted by: Hotdog Zanzibar on 2014-02-07 11:44:09 Sorry for the total silence from me for the past week -- woke up last Saturday feeling a little "off." Made the drive to Cincinnati to pick up the Quadra and by the time I left the guy's house I knew I was getting sick fast. Ended up missing 4 days of work this week due to flu and bronchitis. Finally getting my strength back, thanks to Urgent Care!
Cosmetically the Q660 is in great shape. No cracks, scrapes or scratches. Typical yellowing, especially where the monitor sat, but nothing retr0brite won't fix later this spring/summer.
The original 230mb drive boots to OS 7.5, but apparently has some bad sectors, because writing any file to the disk (even an empty folder) causes it to hang. The guy made a boot floppy of 7.5 and showed me the floppy drive is working, as is the CD drive. He even still had the CD-caddy.
Since I've been sick all week, I haven't taken the chance to check on the caps, but I'm sure it'll need recapped. Most of them do by now. It does have a brand-new PRAM battery, though.
