My group of 5 friends all passed. I guess they want to all meet next weekend and pass the general. they tell me you really need the General LIC to have all the real Shortwave fun 🙂 Looks like i have to keep studying! | Posted by: techknight on 2014-01-26 16:38:36 Nope, There is a very tall hill in between, and I dont know of any people in the area in between that I know i could put anything. It gets flat. But, I studied this awhile back using topology data, and I am 990ft above sea level, and there is a point in between the campground and me that is about 1300feet or so. it would have to be point to point. 🙂 This doesnt include all the trees and forest in between either. So if I were to build anything, it would have to be below 700mhz. Anything higher will be very tough. | |
| Posted by: uniserver on 2014-01-26 17:47:19 well i guess you could put the repeater on the hill, that way both sites will be aimed at it. you can make some pretty cheap towers with pvc obviously the higher the antenna at each site the better. 900mhz will help with penetration but. ya might want to stick with wifi standards. 2.4ghz still has some basic level of penetration. its when you get to 5ghz that you have almost none. | |
