Apple HPV 7100 & 8100
Posted by: Dimitris1980 on 2014-01-13 05:20:40
On my performa 6116 i have installed a sonnet nubus g3 card with the Apple HPV 7100 1mb vram and i use macintosh color display (M1212). As i remember i can have 256 or thousand colours and the resolution of this monitor is fixed at 640x480. Soon i will have the apple hpv 8100 with 2mb of ram and i would like to try it on a sony eizo crt 17" monitor that i have. Are there any drivers for these cards? My macintosh color display is my main monitor and the games of 90s that support 256 colours look better on a 14" or 15" screen but i would like to test some games that support bigger resolution (like Civilization 2 or Caesar III that needs at least 800x600 resolution).

As you are aware your Apple branded monitor has a fixed resolution, but the 17" Sony CRT supports multiple resolutions - no need for drivers, just plug it in and you will have a selection of resolutions and colour depths.
