My vintage Mac projects has been sidelined due to kids and other life stuff...
A few years back back I posted here about my trials with some parts that could possibly achieve a SE/40 with an Xceed card and Carrera040 accelerator. The thread is distilled down to that the Xceed+Carrera worked in my IIsi but not in SE/30. Here is a screen grab of the combo working on the IIsi:

The Carrera card does not officially support the SE/30 but does support the IIsi. At the time I wrote this up I only had the stock SE/30 ROM and a IIfx ROM...since then I acquired a IIsi ROM. Even with the IIsi ROM in the SE/30 I am still getting this error:

When OK is clicked, I get:
Sorry, a system error occurred.
“Startup Carrera”
address error
To temporarily turn off extensions, restart and hold down the shift key
(Restart)
The Carrera040 Control Panel and Init are available here and these 2 files support all the officially supported Macs: IIsi, IIci, IIcx and IIx.
Here is the "HAsk"...Hack Ask 🙂
Does anyone have the programming skills to hack the Carrera files such that the SE/30 could be supported?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
THx

THx!
| Posted by: MidnightCommando on 2013-12-22 18:49:15 With any luck, it should simply be an issue of looking into the resources of the INIT with SuperResEdit or similar, finding wherever the GestaltIDs for the II{x,cx,ci,si} live, and adding in the GestaltID for the SE/30 at that location.
I'd love to see this work.
| Posted by: Von on 2014-01-01 01:57:00 Back when I was poking around at this project I tried tweaking the init ResEdit and had no luck. My only experience with ResEdit is limited to the Gamba hack to get 7.6 and 8 running on a SE/30. I found Super ResEdit here http://www.macgui.com/downloads/?file_id=22382...is it preferable to plain old ResEdit?
