Screen bezel marred, but that is repairable.... Booted to a kernel panic, so wanted it reformatted and an OS reinstalled. It would not accept Leopard (it was taking absolutely forever), so I popped Tiger on it. Discovered in the end, when complete, that it had only 256MB ram. Am just trying to find some spare ram for it.
Probably going to hand it on to a worthy cause, but always wanted to play with one of these in working condition. I have a first generation one in parts that I never quite got working.

The i Lamp has got two sizes of ram sticks, the one under the base is so-dimm (the same as a laptop) the one inside the dome is the usual one.
| Posted by: snuci on 2013-11-17 04:26:00 I've been looking off and one for one of these. Once you have a G4 Cube, you gotta have one of these, no?
| Posted by: bibilit on 2013-11-17 06:33:44 I have got both, so i will say yes 🙂
| Posted by: RickNel on 2013-11-18 01:52:19 These are without doubt my favourites, even more than the G3 candy-colours. I have two 15" and two 17" - still great to use.
Don't just max the outside RAM slot. Open it up (carefully - there are good online take-apart guides) and while swapping in 1gb ram stick use a vacuum cleaner to suck/blow any dust out of the dome, specially at the top around the PSU and fan. Clogged ventilation is the most common cause of damage in these. In fact it is best to take all the components out of the dome and give it a good clean. It will repay the love.

| Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2013-11-18 08:39:32 Nice nab, beachy! I'd love to have one now, since I've finally gotten used to having a pair of the quintessential 15" iLamps around . . .
. . . OMG 8-o I hope that Cube->iLamp thing doesn't work in reverse.
