Re-Enabling Automatic Registrations

Posted by: Cory5412 on 2013-10-16 10:39:47 As a result of some of the great work that wthww has done, it looks like we may be able to turn on automatic activations once more. If you have registered at any point between September 2010 and this coming Sunday, (2013-10-20) and haven't yet had your account activated, please e-mail us at admin@68kmla.org immediately. If you miss this deadline, just re-register on Monday and your account should be approved automatically.

Posted by: Cory5412 on 2013-10-20 16:09:47 As an update to this issue, automatic registrations have been disabled following the creation of about ten spam accounts within a few hours of it being enabled. However, as a nice side-effect of the project, the pending registrations database has been cleared up through 2013-10-20 and the 68kMLA's database is now that much smaller. The wiki page about forum registrations, here, is now active once again.

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2013-10-20 18:51:53 Yeah, I spotted an "adult finder" (or something like that) while at work this evening from someone supposedly in Turkey(?) and I couldn't find it again tonight. I assume you've nuked it along with the others? Ten spam accounts in just how long? u-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e-!
