Ive found myself away from home (due to renovations) with only my Powerbook 5300 at my disposal. While not my first choice of computers (I put the wrong laptop bag into storage), the 5300 has performed quite well and I'm able to do nearly everything I need.
As web browsing is a painstakingly slow experience (have yet to try Loband as recommended in another thread), I've kept myself amused by telnetting to my SDF account, playing on gopher or usenet, or visiting telnet BBSes.
For BBSing, I've been using BetterTelnet with the "zt-ibm" font I ripped out of ZTerm with ResEdit. Everything looks great as far as ANSI graphics are concerned, but I can't download files (BetterTelnet lacks this feature).
Can anyone recommend another program for accessing telnet BBSes that'll let me download files, QWK packets, et cetera? Or is there a way to get ZTerm to access telnet BBSes (say via TCPSerial?)
Any help would be appreciated.
-CJ
* EDIT * I should add that the 5300 has 56Mb RAM, has the Lapis ethernet/external video card, and is running OS 8.6.

| Posted by: conceitedjerk on 2013-09-25 09:58:19 I'll be trying out an offline reader (TIMM) tonight, so I'll d/l Black Night and give it a shot.
Thanks for the recommendation!
