PowerBook 180 networking

I have a PB 180 that I want to connect to another computer. It does not need to connect to the internet; I simply need a way to quickly transfer files from one machine to the other. What kind of cable/software do I need?

What kind of computer do you want to connect it to?

Currently, your options are to use a LocalTalk connection (serial cable) or SCSI Disk Mode.

Can I connect a serial cable directly from one computer to the other?

If they both have serial ports, yes.

Awesome! Now - I know I said I didn't need to connect it to the internet, and I don't, but just out of curiosity, is there a way to do that (using a DSL connection, not dial-up). 🙂

It is possible to use the serial port as a way to access the internet connection on the other system, if the right software is installed.
