| Sonnet tempo HD / Palm / Terminators |
Posted by: bibilit on 2013-09-07 03:33:11 Some small items, not big deal but was looking for SCSI Terminators anyway... the rest was some sort of a bonus (4 € the lot including the HD)

Can you swap that HDD out if it is bad Sure, the board wasn't supplied with one when new, the HDD can be easily removed (4 screws are holding it to the board)... seems like that board can also be used for pre-G3 units (and MAC OS 8 and 9) so adding ATA utility to a SCSI only Logic Board.

Posted by: bibilit on 2013-09-07 08:30:51 Unfortunately not, the black terminator is a Toshiba unit :-/

By the way, the Sonnet Tempo HD and HDD is working fine in a Powermac G4 🙂 (below the main HDD DD40 )

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2013-09-07 09:16:30 Drat! I got mine in a grab bag of cables-n-stuff like that and didn't even notice what I'd nabbed until about a month later. I've never needed to use it because my fx is a late enough rev. that the problem was fixed. Now it's MIA, hopefully somewhere in the goodie boxen.
You wouldn't have a TAM for testing performance boostage with that very 😎 card would you?
Sonnet has been mainstream high end for a lot of years now, they're likely more profitable than ever.

You wouldn't have a TAM for testing performance boostage with that very card would you? No i am not lucky enough, moreover only 600 TAM were delivered new to France...never seen one for real 🙁

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2013-09-07 09:45:34 6360/6400/5400/5500/6500 would do too! I should test my Tempo Trios against that crappy early Mac IDE, now that I think about it!
TAM came to mind due to the cramped confines, I should probably hack an IDE cable into my 6360/6500 hybrid bench unit. }🙂

Posted by: bibilit on 2013-09-08 00:21:42 I have got a working 7600,and also the remains of a 6500, so yes can be tested.

that board can also be used for pre-G3 units (and MAC OS 8 and 9) Correct! (as you have since confirmed)
so adding ATA utility to a SCSI only Logic Board. Or a CF card, even.
6360/6400/5400/5500/6500 would do too! IIRC, zone6400.com say that they work.
