Indigo iBook

I've had this for a few years, and its been sitting in a box in my basement, untouched since I brought it home. I had forgotten about it.

The company I was working for at the time had a palette of old CPUs and CRT monitors that were going to the recycle center. Since I was the IT guy for the company, I was responsible for yanking the hard drives and harvesting anything of value before they went out.

Digging through the pile of stuff, I found this iBook and a Blueberry iMac. The iBook is in pristine condition and came with 2 yoyo adapters and a neat cover/case I've never seen before. The cover/case has no identifying marks on it, so I have no idea what brand it is. Great machine, though. Battery's dead, but that's no big deal. Gotta love the Firewire port and AV Out port too!

I finally dug it out because my son wanted to play this old Mickey Mouse Kindergarten game on his eMac, but even in Classic Mode it wouldn't work. The iBook has 9.04 on it, so his game worked great. I'll have to see if I have any PC66 SODIMMs in my boneyard to put in it. :beige:

Great stuff, I recently scored a Graphite 466 as part of a job lot.

Tiger working pretty well on the 80gb hard drive I installed, dual booting with OS 9.2.2.

It's probably cost me more than it's worth; I spent £39 on a new battery and about £15 on 512mb RAM, but I love this machine and lately I've been using it more than my Pismo.

You'll probably find that PC66 RAM is hard to come by if you need to buy some, but PC133 is cheaper than PC100 and works just fine.

Cheers 🙂

I love my Indigo. I think it's the milky-white plastics I like more than the icy, non-firewire models.

I found a 64MB SODIMM of PC133, and an original Airport Card in my parts drawer. I agree, the Indigo's white shell is purdy. |)

Cool site, mcdermd! My wife always tells me I should display my old Apple stuff, but I like your idea better.

Here's my iBook cover. Anyone know what brand it is? I'm thinking Kensington for some reason, but don't see any markings on it.
