A friend was watering her outdoor plants and forgot she'd brought out her Macbook Air and gave it a good watering. When she gave it to me as dead, the light on the power cable wouldn't even come on. I let it sit for a week and tried it and it started charging and booted but said the wireless hardware wasn't installed. Today I was going to take it to the Apple store to maybe get the Airport card replaced. Booted it first and now the Airport card is functioning again. So tomorrow I return it to my friend

Tell her you fixed it using your psychic powers. Just waiting for it to dry out doesn't sound so expert (but it does indicate maturity - I have known people to put an axe through a laptop just because it was wet and wouldn't boot...)

Told her I did a rain dance around her computer in the nude. She asked me why I didn't ask her to join me.

It gets scarry sometimes around here

You need to dance to get it to rain in Vancouver? :?:

Seems like you do this summer. I think it's been 5 or 6 weeks without any rain. The lawn's totally yellow and with water restrictions I can only water it between 1am and 6am. That isn't going to happen

Yup, it's been pretty dry. Not very hot, but it has been dry. Might have some thunderstorms flaring up in a couple days here in the PacNW, then, supposedly some rain on Friday.

I was actually very surprised last week. It rained not once, but twice. I have not seen it rain in Southern California during the summer in years. Really put a damper on plans.

Some good advice, by the way, is to stick it into a bag with some rice. The rice will suck up the moisture a lot faster than just letting it air dry.

stick it into a bag with some rice.
This has worked for me before on an old Moto Razr. My mother dropped it in the toilet. 😛

Even better, a small container filled with unused silica gel packets. The desiccant power of silica gel is far greater than that of rice, and the packets are very cheap.
