| DigiDesign PCI interface? |
Posted by: CelGen on 2013-05-22 23:29:25 I was wondering if they made a PCI interface for their 888 and compatible equipment and digging through my pile of cards I found this.

It has the HD50 connector on the back and it has a 56K DSP. Slikscreening calls it the "Digidesign MCLC".
Googling only finds a few on ebay but they are equally as clueless as to what it is. Has anyone here seen one of these before and is it what I think it is?

Posted by: Bunsen on 2013-05-25 15:05:23 Digidesign's support pages for their older gear are remarkably complete, but I don't know if they are Google-indexed. Try going there directly and conducting a site search. Also, try old Usenet posts (aka Google "Groups")
I was wondering if they made a PCI interface for their 888 Yes, they did. IIRC, you needed a different connection cable to use either the Nubus or PCI host card with the same breakout box.

The MC part in MCLC might mean "Mix Core" or "Mix Card" however even going back to ProTools 5 these cards are vastly different beasts that for the most part were slices of a larger brick of cards. All I can say is it does SOMETHING with audio simply because of the presence of the MC56K.

Posted by: CelGen on 2013-06-04 18:20:08 I have not yet found that but I'm seeing depiction of cards in their various manuals.
