| Removing eject mechanism for Mitsubishi Superdrives? |
Posted by: kingchops on 2015-10-11 04:21:38 Are there any instructions for removing the top part of the eject mechanism for the Mitsubishi Superdrives?
There's a really good guide for doing this on the Sony drives: https://wiki.68kmla.org/Floppy_drive_lubrication
I was hoping to find somthing similar for the Mitsubishi drives. I've got a couple of these drives and I want to give them a really good cleanup but it's hard to do unless you can remove the top part of the eject mechanism.
Drive model numbers are: MF355F-592MA

Because they havent reached the age of failure just quite yet... Both of mine are 20+ years old. Neither would work properly until I did a basic re-grease job. One still has some write issues that I suspect is due to parts of the mechanism that still needs cleaning.

Posted by: kingchops on 2015-10-12 18:07:51 There's not much information around at all about these drives. I might just start tinkering with it and work out how to disassemble the eject mechanism. I'll post any details of a procedure I come up with.

2. Remove the manual eject button (lift tab and pull out)
3. Push in the manual eject metal nub and lift top portion of drive up.
