iTunes, OS9 & Sharing
Posted by: markyb86 on 2013-04-17 19:29:03
Hey guys, can someone tell me the last version of iTunes for OS9?

Also, does it allow listening to a shared library over the network?

Thanks,

Mark

That would be 2.0.4. I don't know about the sharing.

It does *NOT* allow shared listening - that was added in 4.0, which requires at least OS X 10.1.

Airport express streams music well to mini jack and RCA cables well.

Thanks everyone!

Looks like it's time to put 10.3.9 back on my iMac so I can stream music to it.

I don't really feel like using a shared folder or similar to sync an itunes library back and forth.

Why don´t you use Audion? It has built in MP3 streaming.

Only because I haven't heard of it before. Thanks for the tip!

(one thing that might muck that up.. my iTunes lib is on a windows machine)

Oh, you want to use an iTunes library, ... I didn´t read carefully enough. I thought you just want to stream any content from some network devices (via AppleTalk or Samba -> Dave, ...). Sorry thats not possible with Audion. It can stream from any network accessable volume, but just open formats (like ogg, mp3. etc.)
