Creating video DVDs in Tiger
Posted by: bse5150 on 2013-04-05 12:42:25
I'm looking for software that will let me burn videos to a video DVD that will playback in a DVD player. I can do it using Toast 11 on my MBP, but I want to do it on my Mac Mini G4. Any help appreciated. I'll consult Google as well. Thanks.

If you can get hold of a copy, Toast 7 is pretty good, and I use in in Tiger on my G4 Pismo.

Failing that, Burn 2.3 is free but obviously less complex.

Hope this helps,

Cheers 🙂

I use Toast 8 on an MDD with Tiger. That should also work on a Mini. There were some OEM copies (disk and activation code only) copies available from sellers a few years ago. I don't know if there are any still around.

Uhm... iMovie+iDVD?

I know that's a lame answer but they came preinstalled on most machines at the time and I made several DVDs from variously sourced materials using that combination on PowerBook G4s. Just by drag the files into iMovie ('06, I think?, works with most things assuming you install the appropriate codecs), add some chapter marks, and iDVD away using one of the templates. For simple and braindead you could do worse.
