It comes with circuit board, high power led, momentary switch,

He cut me a deal I bought 120 for $110 including shipping, Still has 2900 in stock.

He wouldn't tell me where they are from, but they are no longer needed (brand new stock) for a project that never materialized i guess.

I basically bought them just for the battery for my vintage macs.

what do you guys think this came from?

Good score...

Does shorting those brass tags also turn on the LED? The IC looks like it could be a 555 timer or similar? Some sort of alarm signal with flash or timed on or off delay?

The circuit shouldn't be too hard to figure out by looking at the IC datasheet and following the connections.

I think you are correct, because it will flash.

Is the battery soldered on?

Posted by: Bunsen on 2013-03-16 19:46:12
Are yours still reading a full 3.6V?

Is the battery soldered on?
he said they are " tacked on " he said with some nippers the metal tabs peel right off.

Are yours still reading a full 3.6V?
he said they are brand new, will all be at full rated capacity.

Feel free to ask him question directly if interested, he is a great guy ... great communication!

I'll get my 120 unit order on monday.

I always wondered what would happen if you would put a 3v lithium battery in a mac. They are a tiny bit larger, but should fit. 6 pieces for 2 Euros, for cameras i believe.

A 3V battery is unlikely to be sufficient.

It would be nice if those LEDs are continuous duty and not just for an intermittent flash duty cycle.

Two birds with one Susan B. }🙂

LEDs are continuous duty and not just for an intermittent flash duty cycle.
From what he said, pressing the red button once makes it flash. pressing it twice keeps it on.

Do you have a project that calls for bright white led's?

If so this is the buy-it-now for you.

ok got these in today,

they are for ship's emergency life vests, the brass leads are to detect water.

kinda cool 🙂

A 3V battery is not sufficient. I've tried it before.

How bright are the LEDs? I'd like to test one for continuous duty cycle survival! }🙂

Posted by: uniserver on 2013-03-18 11:18:09
continuous duty cycle

They are very bright!

hey there is a 16v 10uf tantalum cap on there 🙂

For one, I'm going de-solder the LED, and solder on a buzzer, toss it in the low spot under my house, that way if it floods in it will buzz and let me know 🙂

Yay! My guess was close.

Keep another one with the LED so that if it REALLY floods you can signal a passing helicopter for rescue :beige:

Use the LED to summon Batman. "Leaping lollipops Batman, uniserver is in trouble."

heck yeah 🙂 lol

they will work as water detectors 🙂

so 10 were dead, 15 were less then 3.5v

So I called the guy on the phone and had a conversation with him.

He is going to refund 20 bucks.

I guess that is better then nothing, they were not packed all that well and some of them were touching,

he is lucky it didn't catch fire and burn down a USPS truck lol

Looks like you scored a bunch of handy little project boxes with them as well. Then you screwed him for a discount }🙂 . Hope he is still a nice guy.
